Three French Motorcycle related businesses have developed a Motorcycle Holiday with a difference. Two providers of Biker's accommodation - Route 66 Hotel in the North and Maison St Georges in the South-East have joined up to provide a mini Biker's Tour de France. The southern side of the triangle - where you will be landing to hire your motorbike for the motorcycle tour is a lot more flexible - and the Mission Motos team will find you a place on this southern side with no problems. Your options are the following airports - Biarritz, Pau, Tarbes/Lourdes, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Perpignan - and remember - Mission Motos gives further discounts for groups.
To get these discounts worth anything up to 99 € Your motorcycle tour needs to have the following conditions: 2 nights minimum at Maison St Georges and Route 66Hotel (10% given) - 5% on Mission Motos Motorcycle Hire (6 Days Minimum hire, 2 nights at each of the partners). Hotel Des Vallees discount differs depending on season.

First Leg Toulouse Airport to Maison St Georges
|
For those who want to rent directly from Toulouse Airport this is a way to tour some of the Pyrenees as part of the trip. The alternative is to pick up your bike at the Montrejeau base and start riding across the bas Pyrenees through St Girons and Foix. Either way - a terrific start to your tour! For late arrivals the Hotel Athenee, Toulouse - or the Hotel Des Cedres, St Gaudens (for those who wish to avoid riding out of Toulouse) is suggested. Des Vallees is the option for those landing at Pau - alternatively Des Vallees can be used for the final night of your tour. |
Second Leg Maison St Georges to Route 66 Hotel , via Rocamadour
|
Take on of the two routes from Maison St Georges then pick up on the Route 66 Hotel suggested tour to get up to Route 66 Hotel. Quick route Maison St Georges Rocamadour |
Leg 3 Route 66 Hotel to Les Valees
|
A good hack due south - through the centre/south west of france. Through some great towns then past Pau to Des Vallees - a good spot to start, or finish your tour. |
Day 1 Route 66 Hotel to Chauvigny For a relaxing day out and only a 100km round trip by Motorbike it is worth visiting Chauvigny medieval city. The city stands upon a hilltop with 5 fortified buildings including the impressive cathedral, the interior of which is painted in brilliant ancient colours. The Giant Bird of Prey display is excellent and lunch at the medieval cafe is a must. |
Day 2 Route 66 Hotel to La Rochelle Hey hows about a day at the seaside. La Rochelle has been a bastion against maritime invasion for hundreds of years. All the harbour entrances are heavily defended (mostly against the English) and the town was never successfully attacked. But nowadays the best plan of attack is to park up your motorcycle and relax in one of the dozens of harbourside bars or restaurants and watch the very pretty girls go by (oh and the blokes if you must). |
Day 3 Route 66 Hotel to Rocamadour The Rocamadour trip is a brisk 200km away and is best visited en |
Day 2 Maison St Georges to Cadaques, on the Costa Brava, Spain. Again a not to be missed ride out. All the right ingredients, fantastic scenery and great roads, make this a favourite on my tours. Riding back following the Pyreanean coastal route, so be ready for mile after mile of serious twisting routes made by God for motorcyclists! Maison St Georges south to La Jonquera Spain, then a fantastic ride across the lowlands into the mountains via the 602, joining the GI 614 for the last 17km into the scenic small seaside resort of Cadaqués, famous for being the home of Salvador Dali. Great views, great restaurants, how about a true Paella on the beach? Followed by a brilliant ride back from Cadaques following the winding coast roads through Port de La Selva, Llanca to Cebere, Banyuls and Collioure to Narbonne. Maison St Georges. A good days riding but worth every minute of it! |
